Our colleague Xevi Sagué participated as moderator in the round table “Digital Transformation: present and future challenges” within the framework of the VII Strategic Immersion of the Advanced Materials Cluster MAV (Advanced Materials of Catalonia). In this conference, it was highlighted that industrial digitalization opens the doors to innovation with materials that deal with fast and sensitive detection systems, that allow the reduction of energy consumption, more efficient heat dissipation and the rapid transmission of information.
This tandem of Digitalization and Innovation must act as a dynamizer towards the green digital transition, which promotes a greater impact on Society. In such a way that new materials are put at the service of technology, and, conversely, digital technologies at the service of new materials such as the Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain, etc.
This interaction enables its usability in fields such as process simulation and the characterization of new materials, metalworking fluids, additive manufacturing, 3D/4D printing, among others, to meet the challenges of increasingly eco-sustainable production.
